About the Position At eLumen, the Sales Development Representative serves as the starting point for every new client relationship, making this a crucial role within our organization. Sales Development Representative (SDR) is a new position helping to transform higher education by educating academic leaders on innovative ways their peers are using technology to break down silos between academic departments and use core data across departments to make informed decisions on assessment and curriculum. SDR works in close collaboration with the Business Development Team , who serve as mentors and help guide the strategy and tactical execution of a territory sales plan. SDR will engage with executives at colleges and universities around the world to paint a vision of how their institutions can better understand an ecosystem approach to teaching and learning. SDR will develop expertise in the higher ed landscape, use their personal research and conversations with prospects to identify institutional pains and inefficiencies, map those pains to the benefits of the eLumen platform, and build excitement for a follow-up, in depth conversation. Given this forward-facing role in the market, SDR’s are expected and encouraged to bring new insights and ideas to the broader eLumen team including Marketing, Product and executive leadership. Responsibilities o Research, identify, and qualify target accounts through effective outreach methodologies and effective communication of our value proposition to key decision-makers o Create appropriate lists of prospects and contacts for email/phone campaigns, newsletter distribution, conference attendance, etc o Work with and directly support the business development team by developing creative and purposeful content and strategically co-developing territory plan o Schedule appointments between prospects and BD’s o Be responsible for prioritizing and leading prospecting activities through our CRM database o Learn and comprehensively understand all of our products and services o Effectively demonstrate eLumen’s suite of products via web presentations. o Represent eLumen at conferences and other networking events o Report to VP, Business Development Basic Qualifications o Bachelor’s degree o 1 years of work experience in customer-facing role o Confidence to credibly engage with the C-level (CIO/VPAA, CTO, CFO, Provosts, Presidents) o Comfort with online technology platforms (e.g. Hubspot/CRM, Google productivity suite) o Ability to speak and write fluently in English (as a minimum requirement) o Ability to commute daily to office in downtown Minneapolis MN is preferred Ideal Qualifications o Experience with inside sales procedures and selling by phone o Experience working for, or delivering services to, universities and colleges o Technical acumen (i.e. can speak elegantly on SaaS platforms, APIs, data security, etc) In addition to a competitive salary, eLumen offers a robust benefits package that includes medical insurance, paid time off, and a fun company culture, which sets us apart We look forward to you learning more about us eLumen is committed to diversity and the principle of equal employment opportunity for all employees.
