The Sales Development Representative researches prospective customers, creates and executes creative outreach strategies to build relationships with prospects in compelling ways, and qualifies leads for new and existing accounts. Here’s how it works: Application Short behavioral and cognitive assessment Screening Interview – video call (30-40 minutes) Topgrading Interview with the hiring manager – video call (90 mins) Focused Interviews with potential teammates – 2-4 video calls (30 mins each) Reference calls with your last several managers Offer letter We can’t achieve our goals without you Here's what you'll do: Master your market and your product - Including the language and needs of financial operations pros, the Ascend solutions story, value proposition, and competitive differentiators. As an SDR, you will be the first one speaking to prospects about our solutions and how they make a difference. You will regularly work with our product, customer success, and technical teams to stay on top of stories, changes, and trends. Build customer relationships and generate lead flow - Daily high volume prospecting of new sales leads by making an initial phone, social, or email contact. Daily follow up on inbound leads via phone, email, and digital sales channels like chat and social. Engage accounts and prepare them for the Account Executive. You will work closely with Ascend's Account Executives plus Sales and Marketing leadership to develop the sales funnel. Build our prospect and customer database - You will work in Salesforce, HubSpot daily and use other prospecting, project management, and marketing tools to help you accel at your job. CRM hygiene is incredibly important to our growth and your success. Ascend has made investments in technology to empower sales and marketing and you will be expected to be digitally proficient and the type of person that uses technology to increase multiply your own effectiveness. Sales and Customer Marketing aren't for everyone, but we think you'll do great if you: Have excellent written and verbal communication skills and enjoy speaking to new people and learning about their personal stories. Are a high-energy, goal/growth-oriented person with a strong desire to meet and exceed your personal and professional targets. Are technically proficient and use software to greatly increase your effectiveness (you don't need to know Python or anything like that). Have hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls). Have experience with CRM software (Salesforce preferred). Have experience with marketing, prospecting, and sales enablement software (e.g., Hubspot, ZoomInfo, Outreach). Have good familiarity with MS Office Suite. Have a strong understanding of sales performance metrics, Other Requirements: 1 years previous sales experience or similar role "selling" software solutions (preferred). BS degree in Marketing or Business Administration or similar.
