The Conner Industries Industrial Lumber and Packaging Specialist (ILPS) position is ideal for the candidate who has had success in sales and is experienced in lumber and/or industrial packaging, eager to learn and desires a long-term career in sales. This position will include training as needed in the industrial lumber business, with base pay plus unlimited commission to start. The successful ILPS will build their book of business by engaging with target customers/prospects to sell lumber and more value-added assembled packing solutions. Understand and effectively communicate Conner’s capabilities, products, and industry-leading services. Build regional market position by identifying and closing new accounts while maintaining existing assigned customers. Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis and execute strategic business plans. Effectively utilize and maintain sales activities and forecasts using the Conner CRM. Establish relationships with key customer personnel at all levels to identify business opportunities. Utilize resources to achieve or exceed performance objectives and customer expectations. Develop and negotiate customized proposals and pricing for customer accounts. Manage account profitability within company guidelines. QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales - lumber or industrial packaging experience preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong computer skills with experience in the Microsoft Office suite. Demonstrated sales experience with ability to work effectively autonomously and as part of a team. Self-Starter with strong work ethic, able to thrive in remote and office environments. Ability to prioritize and multi-task with a strong attention to detail. Ability to develop and give oral presentations to both small and large groups. 25-50% travel for training and customer visits; must have a dependable vehicle. Experience in sales processes including cold calls, prospecting, target selling and account management. Analytical thinker with a strong emphasis on data gathering and analysis. Energetic, organized with ability to manage a wide range of projects and priorities. Understand the importance of ‘do what you say’.
