Make yourself at home with us and start doing your life's best work.(sm) The Sourcing & Procurement Associate Director (IT) will develop and execute Category Management, negotiation complex contracts, provide Supplier Performance Management program management, and streamline the handling of IT Software across UnitedHealth Group entities. In addition, the Sourcing & Procurement Associate Director (IT) will deliver value to customers, communicate effectively, lead change and innovation, drive sound and disciplined decisions, and inspire high-quality execution. Primary Responsibilities: The Sourcing & Procurement Associate Director (IT) will be expected to: Develop, execute, and manage technology procurement category management strategies and negotiations for IT Software/Services while understanding the impact on software licensing Implement strategic category plans with a focus on proactive collaboration with stakeholders to continuously improve the category strategy Support the commodity team with execution of supplier performance management, supplier rationalization, and sourcing processes Specifically, this individual will be expected to: Draft category plans and develop strategies taking into consideration the rapidly changing IT Software space Draft and negotiate contract language compliant with UHG standards, partnering with legal where necessary Communicate category requirements to stakeholders and facilitate feedback for strategic category management adoption Ensure appropriate supplier performance management in alignment with business strategy Identify, recommend, and execute strategic supplier rationalization initiatives across one or more business segments, including, but not limited to: developing and implementing change management strategies to support current supply chain; overall IT Software supplier rationalization based on business strategy; and drive implementation of strategic category management best practices Understand and analyze IT Software commodities and drive alignment of enterprise supply chain strategies with targeted technology vendors and applicable stakeholders in accordance with overall business and financial goals Define and influence relationships with applicable stakeholders, including executive level individuals, across the enterprise to drive support of the legal, sourcing and procurement value proposition Identify, define, and implement supplier consolidation strategies, opportunities to leverage supplier spend, and cost savings opportunities Support enterprise sourcing and procurement supplier selection and competitive bidding strategy You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: Undergraduate degree in applicable area of expertise or equivalent experience 3 years of progressive experience in developing market - leading category management and sourcing strategies and leading complex strategic sourcing projects in cross - functional team environment 3 years of experience benchmarking, constructing, and negotiating complex master agreements and statements of work Proven analytical skills (effectively supports decisions on factual data and analysis) and problem-solving skills Proven understanding of IT Software Demonstrated ability to successfully navigate through ambiguous situations using facts, alternatives identification, open-mindedness, thought - through strategy, and superior leadership Superior organizational, project management and communication (written and verbal) skills Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute plans when directed Ability to concisely articulate positions and garner support quickly from various levels of business and procurement leadership High impact individual with demonstrated ability to succeed in a high demand multi-tasking environment Advanced skill level in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders Preferred Qualifications: MBA or JD CPSM, CPM or equivalent certification 6 years of experience within IT Software categories 5 years of experience of negotiating technology complex deals, developing and leading RFx projects, including use of eRFx tools or relevant sell - side negotiation experience Knowledge of e-Procurement tool; experience utilizing Procure-to-Pay and Contracting modules (or similar procurement systems) Careers at UnitedHealth Group.
