About the role The Senior Director of Internal Production Systems (IPS) is a strategic consultant and leader who is responsible for a managing an onshore and offshore team that does survey programming, data tabulation, data architecture and data visualization. The Senior Director, IPS runs towards challenges, thrives in a dynamic, changing environment and is eager to make bold moves, take risks, fail, and keep going to make an impact. In this role, you will Lead an onshore and offshore team of survey programmers, tabbers, data architects and data visualizers. Use your leadership skills, excellent analytical thinking and project and people expertise, to achieve high-quality client results for a diverse range of companies. Lead and enhance of our team’s expertise in all areas of technical operations for research projects. Solve complex business problems. Engage with the Business Development team during the proposal phase to provide solutions and consult with the client around data delivery options. Enhance our technical offerings with new products, services, and expansion. Expand our capabilities and partnerships both domestically and internationally Interface with end-clients as needed. Manage and provide guidance through all technical phases of a project. Assess future staffing needs, develop junior staff members, mentor, and foster growth in direct reports, and maintain strong relationships with Business Leaders and peers Plan and execute projects to meet or exceed budgets with a high degree of quality Provide proactive, consultative support to internal clients on new or unique technical methodologies, study design, questionnaire creation, pricing, and feasibility issues. Work with internal research team serving as the knowledge center for technical operations Help teams and individuals throughout the organization to improve their problem-solving capabilities Identify non-traditional ways to perform the department’s functions more efficiently Use technology to improve quality and efficiency of research projects About you 8 years of experience in managing technical operations for survey programming and data delivery. Strong knowledge and expertise in various software packages, especially Dimensions, Python and R among others. Superior management skills: ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers to deliver quality and on-time deliverables Excellent customer service orientation with proficiency in building and maintaining client relationships Strong mentoring, coaching, teaching experience for a team with diverse levels of expertise High degree of comfort in working in a technical environment. Proven ability to navigate between technical, business and people issues. A creative problem solver and an active learner who stays current on new tools and approaches Energetic, collaborative, and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively manage both strategic and tactical operations and administration initiatives Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
